With the death of ILPR, 1Ls are now able to take a select list of classes with 2Ls and 3Ls. Dean Cassidy stated that the administration chose the courses: “with two primary goals in mind: first, to give first year students a breadth of legal disciplines to choose from, and second, to open courses which can accommodate the additional enrollment. ” Interestingly, the courses will count towards the 1L GPA, except in the competition for law review.
