Scott Brown '84: Senator, Cosmo Model
Scott Brown ‘84, was featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine in 1984. Brown is now a Massachusetts State Senator. A couple years ago, Eagleionline published an article about “The 1L,” a student at Boston College Law School who decided to pose mostly nude for Barstool Sports, a free Boston-based newspaper with the motto “By the common man, for the common man.” That photo shoot turned out to be so ill-fated that I decline to link to it here.
This brings me to the BC Law Republican’s featured speaker this afternoon, Scott Brown ’84. While it is well known at BC Law that Scott Brown is now a prominent public servant (he currently serves as Massachusetts State Senator for Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex counties), it is perhaps less well known there that Brown had a mostly nude photo-shoot himself while at law school. Brown was featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine as an outgoing 3L, and used the proceeds from sale of the photographs to help defray the costs of law school tuition.
According to some at Boston College Law School who remember Brown, the atmosphere surrounding the 1982 photo-shoot was fun and light-hearted. Indeed, according to one, Brown promoted the shoot himself by distributing copies of the magazine on campus. This would not be inconsistent the Boston College Law School 1984 yearbook, where Brown opted for a less conventional portrait.
Eagleionline Question of the Day: Are there double standards between men and women at play here? Few I have talked to have a problem with Brown’s photo shoot, but many students criticized “The 1L” for hers.
An earlier version of this article incorrectly listed the Federalist Society as sponsoring this event

Um, he can pose however he wants. Hot.
Mr. JS, can you please link to the "ill-fated" photo shoot for those of us who were not fortunate enough to see it the first time?

dang, that guy is 10 kinds of sexy.
He is better looking now, what a hot hunky man!
Yes, there is a tremendous double standard - I would have thought it was too obvious to even have to blog about it, but I suppose others need to be whacked on the nose with that rolled up newspaper.
His wife must be a little nervous about getting cheated on - they will be away from each other ALOT now She's a news reporter for Channel 4 or 5 in Boston. And while she is attractive, I don't see the 2 of them being a couple.
Republican Christian Values and the Teabaggers now set the standard for what it takes to be a Senator in the USA. Yes the voters of Mass. have spoken and posing full monty is now accepted. Still woman have to cover up and if like Hillary a Republican thinks a woman's blouse is to sexy she will be removed. Scott Brown will run for President with a new up dated Full Monty Photo and those female votes will come in and the whores in DC are cheering as each one get a chance to sample the new Center Fold Senator. Sarah Palin will be first in line for that taste of what ever since she and Todd sleep in seperate rooms. Rush Limbaugh will now have to have a body face make over and Senator Graham might get lucky.
anyone was in prof. maffei's class last semester?
was it a good class?
I'm sure he got the gay vote, much hotter than Martha
Don't be ridiculous. Coakley sued the federal government over the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act. Don't wonder which candidate got the vote of the majority of gays.
He did not get the gay vote - he opposes gay marriage. Which, by the way, I am surprised Martha didn't use in her campaign.
